OK, Let’s Vote is an election guide published by OK, Sounds Fun, owned and operated by Gain Street. This notice explains optional analytics, local election tools and information you choose to submit.
Optional visitor analytics
Analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics.” Declining does not limit the guide. Use “Privacy & analytics choices” at the bottom of any page to withdraw consent; this stops future analytics from that browser and removes our Google Analytics cookies. We also honor Global Privacy Control by keeping analytics off.
When allowed, Google Analytics receives a random browser identifier, visit times, general page and tool use, referring website domain, approximate location derived from your network connection, browser/device information, scroll depth and engagement. It helps us understand readership, repeat visits, traffic sources and which tools are useful. A browser identifier does not tell us your name, but can distinguish repeat visits.
We send only approved guide page paths and general tool names. We exclude URL query strings and fragments, individual candidate activity, political answers, saved ballots, form contents, names and email addresses. We do not enable Google Signals, advertising personalization, advertising accounts, session replay or cross-site identity matching. Opening the email signup can be counted; an opening is not proof of a subscription.
Google processes the consented data for us, including on systems outside Canada where other laws may apply. Google Analytics uses IP addresses during collection to derive approximate location; Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. See Google’s privacy policy and Analytics data safeguards. Browser settings and blockers can also prevent collection.
Storage and retention
We remember your analytics choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Optional analytics cookies have a maximum 180-day lifetime without renewal on every visit. Detailed GA4 event and user data is configured for two-month retention; standard aggregated reports can remain longer. Withdrawing consent stops future collection, but does not automatically erase earlier reports. Contact us about access or deletion requests; we may need information from your browser to locate pseudonymous records.
Your political choices and saved tools
Candidate Match answers, shortlists and saved council or trustee choices are used by the tools in your browser and are excluded from analytics. Some tools save choices locally so they remain after a refresh; clearing this site’s browser storage removes those saved choices. If you deliberately create and share a choices link, anyone with that link may read what you shared.
Clear saved election choices
Remove saved comparisons, shortlists, council and trustee choices, and saved regional Match answers from this browser. Other open election-tool tabs will reset too. Your analytics preference stays unchanged.
This cannot remove submitted forms, downloaded cards, shared links or choices on another device. Opening an old shared link can load those choices again.
Information you submit
The optional election email signup loads a HighLevel / LeadConnector form when opened. Contact information and your separate email permission are stored in our private CRM to provide the updates you request. Analytics consent does not subscribe you to email. You can unsubscribe using the link in an update or contact us. The form provider processes technical connection information to deliver and secure the form and may process data outside Canada. Candidate questionnaires and corrections are reviewed before publication. Reader endorsements require explicit publication consent. If published, the public name, candidate and endorsement text appear publicly. The contact email stays private. Do not include private information about another person. Contact us to correct or request removal of a submission. Subscriber information is retained while needed to provide requested updates, and consent/unsubscribe records may be retained to honor your choices and applicable requirements.
Kelowna community straw poll
When the optional Kelowna poll is available, it asks for an email address and candidate choices. The site uses the email only to create a keyed, non-reversible identifier to prevent another ballot from the same address; it does not store the raw email, send a confirmation, add anyone to a list or share individual choices publicly. Poll records contain the identifier and selected candidate IDs, and only aggregate counts are displayed. Email ownership is not verified, so this self-selected poll is not a representative survey or official election result. Contact us about access, correction or removal; we may need the email you used to locate your record. Poll records are retained while the poll and its results are operated, subject to valid removal requests.
Hosting, links and contact
Our hosting and security providers process the technical information needed to deliver and protect this website. That essential processing is separate from optional audience analytics. External websites and embedded forms have their own privacy practices.
